ICOMEM: Providing the best available scientific information to doctors and citizens

The Ilustre Colegio de Médicos de Madrid (ICOMEM), the largest medical association in Spain, launched ICOMEM Media using Icareus Video Cloud to deliver reliable scientific information and training to doctors and the wider public.

Founded in 1893, ICOMEM serves as a professional, scientific, and cultural hub for healthcare in Madrid. With over 42,000 members the association represents the medical community of the Madrid region and plays a central role in professional training and public health communication.

To practise medicine in Madrid, registration with ICOMEM is required. The association’s headquarters also serve as an active venue for continuing medical education and scientific events.

Summary

Launched during the COVID-19 pandemic, ICOMEM Media was created to provide an authoritative audiovisual space for the exchange of medical knowledge.

Its mission is to make trustworthy, evidence-based information easily accessible to doctors and citizens through live webinars, interviews, and on-demand video content.

The service was implemented using the Icareus Video Cloud Enterprise solution, which powers the streaming, management, and publishing of ICOMEM Media content directly on the association’s website.
