With operations spanning 15 countries, the company is a European leader in radio and television satellite broadcasting, operating major facilities at the Fucino and Lario Space Centres.

To further improve its broadcasting services, particularly Electronic Program Guide (EPG) and Hybrid Broadcast Broadband TV (HbbTV) management, Telespazio turned to Icareus. This decision builds on a long-standing partnership that began in 2014 when Telespazio first deployed Icareus’ EPG solution at its Fucino Space Centre in Rome.

Telespazio deployed the Icareus Playout EP110 for redundant EPG and PSI/SI management and the CS110 Carousel for HbbTV services. The setup included:

  • Redundant (1+1) operation with tunneling for high availability.
  • Automated EPG workflows integrated into Telespazio’s broadcast systems.
  • DSM-CC carousels & AIT management for broadcast and broadband apps.
  • Stream event synchronization for hybrid TV applications.
  • Custom data delivery for XML-based services, including betting applications.
