Challenge
Banco Mediolanum’s analysts publish internal market analysis videos daily. These videos are shared with employees and, indirectly, their customers – but must remain protected from external access.
The bank wanted to avoid building a complex authentication or identity management system. Instead, they required a simpler yet secure way to protect video access within their intranet, compatible with all devices.
Solution
Secure access with single-use authentication keys
Icareus provided an Enterprise Video Cloud deployment featuring single-use secret authentication keys for each video session. This method ensured that every playback was unique and authorised without needing a separate login process.
Transparent integration with the intranet
The video portal was integrated directly into Banco Mediolanum’s intranet, which automatically generates and manages the access keys for each user. This made authentication invisible to employees, while keeping content fully protected.
Responsive and branded video portal
Using Icareus’ ready-made responsive templates, the video portal was quickly adapted to the bank’s visual identity and launched for desktop, tablet, and mobile users.
Scalable platform for future needs
The same solution also enables Banco Mediolanum to use the platform for external marketing and communication. Selected videos can be embedded on public sites, and the built-in marketing tools allow for interactive campaigns such as contact forms or calls to action.
Results
Icareus worked closely with Banco Mediolanum’s IT department to integrate and test the system. The project was completed on schedule, and the service went live in February 2018.
Since launch, video usage has grown steadily. Most views come from desktop devices, but mobile viewing continues to increase. The most popular internal videos now attract more than triple the views compared to before the new platform.
