Freesat upgrades their datacasting systems with Icareus

Icareus Playout CS Carousel server is used to deliver various data components, EPG and over-the-air updates to Freesat satellite receivers.

To provide the most reliable service Freesat runs several Icareus Playout systems including redundant
production and recovery sites as well as a staging environment.

Icareus Playout was selected to replace the existing legacy system after an extensive testing period that proved Icareus Playout to be a flexible platform to firstly to meet today’s needs but also offer a future proof roadmap. Icareus worked closely with Freesat during the testing period adding new features and modifications as requested by Freesat. The co-creative model proved to be successful to ensure Freesat with a platform to meet their exact needs.
