Finnish futsal fans now have a clearer way to watch and follow the game.
Finland’s National Futsal League, Futsalliiga, has clear ambitions: to increase the visibility of Futsal, strengthen Futsal clubs, and create a sustainable future for the league. Futsalliiga.tv is a concrete step toward those goals.
Over the next three years, hundreds of league games – including all regular season games, playoffs, and qualifiers – will be available to watch both live as well as on demand. Futsalliiga.tv is a dedicated streaming experience for the Women’s Futsal League and the Men’s Futsal League, collecting all games in one location and making following each season easier.
Futsalliiga.tv is accessible at its own address as part of the MATSI.TV service. In practice, this means fans can either go directly to Futsalliiga.tv or access the same content through MATSI.TV, where the league is featured as its own dedicated section. The same content is also available across MATSI.TV’s mobile and TV apps.
This service will help bring greater visibility to both the league and its players – not only in Finland, but internationally. With global availability, fans can follow and watch matches from anywhere, expanding the league’s reach and creating new revenue opportunities for clubs. At the same time, it creates a revenue stream for clubs, as part of the platform’s revenue is shared with them.
Futsal League decided to opt for their own DTC (Direct to consumer) model instead of a traditional media partnership to increase revenues and strengthen the connection with fans. It also enables continued investment in production equipment to further improve the streaming experience.
