Helsinki / ___________, XX.06.2024: A ‘national UK broadcaster’, turned to Icareus to update PSI/SI EPG monitoring for their satellite and terrestrial platforms.
The customer currently operates DVB-SI systems for two UK-based free-to-air Digital TV platforms. To achieve the highest quality customer runs continuous monitoring of the contents of these platforms’ EPG data, EIT p/f and EIT p/f++ tables, specifically with regards to the validity of the start time of the present event.
Once the customer started to look for a new system to replace their legacy in-house developed system they soon found out that there weren’t any off-the-shelf products to fulfil their specific needs. To achieve it’s high standards and requirements Icareus was hired to renew the legacy system. Building on top of the Icareus Playout platform a long-term solution with superior quality and robustness was achieved.
The project was carried out in collaboration with Techex, a true veteran of live broadcast industry since 1972. Techex work side-by-side with customers to forge long-term partnerships, working as a seamless extension to their design teams by providing trusted advice and solutions that combine the exacting standards of live broadcast with the exciting possibilities of the Cloud.
Collaboratively, Techex and Icareus took on the challenge, constructing integrated workflows for the broadcaster’s operations team to manage input streams, EPG thresholds and real-time alarms. This strategic approach empowers customer to focus on operational excellence and to further develop their platform.
