Icareus Playout EPG solution to drive Croatia’s new DVB-T2 network

Helsinki, 05.06.2020, Icareus has delivered its Icareus Playout EPG server platform to OIV, digital television operator, based in Zagreb, Croatia. OIV is the national provider of terrestrial broadcasting of radio and television programs in Croatia, with a significant share of the market of leased communications networks, telecommunications lines and infrastructure, provider of satellite and multimedia services.

Croatia’s OIV, customer of Icareus Playout since 2016, was selected to build and operate a new DVB-T2 network in Croatia. Icareus’ Playout EPG Platform was selected to manage the PSI/SI and EPG for the extensive national network with tens of regions.

Relying on Icareus Playout was a natural choice as OIV had verified Icareus Playout EPG server to be the best, most robust and feature rich platform in the market. It enables OIV to offer better TV experience to its broadcaster customers and TV viewers while managing the channel lineups and network parameters in the most efficient way possible.

The first Icareus Playout system is being used for DVB-T network and the new system is to first serve DVB-T2 and finally to manage both DVB-T and DVB-T2 networks. It will generate an impressive amount of over 40 unique transport streams with different channel lineups from a single 1+1 platform for both DVB-T and DVB-T2.
